Safety: New Deliveroo safety network
Report your safety concerns and help us to tackle bike crime.
Following the recent shocking attacks in London, we're announcing a new package of measures to improve safety for riders. This includes:
In app safety reporting
We’ve updated the app, allowing you to raise safety concerns about specific delivery areas. Use the order rating function to select ‘safety concern’ and add details about any issue that you encounter. We will be sharing information collected with local councils and the police to flag problem hotspots and keep you safe.
As part of this new network we’re hiring 50 new staff who will have a focus on rider safety. We’ll also be providing guidance from the police and local authorities through regular safety surgeries available to riders. The first of these will be held in conjunction with Hackney Council on Thursday 3rd August and these regular sessions will help Deliveroo to work with the authorities to bring criminals to justice.
The 50 Operations Liaison staff will be named, physical points of contact that riders can approach whenever they have safety concerns – and there will be at least one dedicated point of contact in each of Deliveroo’s operating areas right across the UK.
Safety camera trial
We’re also trialling the use of helmet-mounted cameras – such as GoPros – to help riders to gather evidence, and to pass on information to the police.
Your safety is our priority. We want to give you all the tools required to report concerns and help us act to keep you safe and look forward to hearing what you think.
