Deliveroo Rider Races Recap
50 riders gathered at the windy Lee Valley VeloPark last Wednesday as they raced to be crowned the UK’s fastest Deliveroo rider!
The racers battled it out on the outside track at the Olympic Park, with Bristol rider Gabriel Turner completing the mile the fastest, with a time of 2:23:38.
The pressure was on for the fastest 16 who next headed inside the Velodrome, and after a quick bite to eat, were briefed and kitted out for their shot at victory in the flying laps.
Speedy times were recorded early on in the group and, in the end, less than a second separated the quickest six riders. But there has to be a winner and we’re pleased to announce that the inaugural Deliveroo Rider Races was London’s John Paul Phillips, in an amazing 16.008 seconds.
1st place – 00:16:008 – John Paul Phillips from London
2nd place – 00:16:296 – Gints Reika from Leeds
3rd place – 00:16:528 – Jeffrey Pillon from London
A huge thank you to Cycle Surgery for providing £250, £150 and £50 vouchers for the winners.
Thanks also to everyone who came along and supported – check out the photos from the day over on Instagram.
