Bicycle safety summary
We can all play a part in raising awareness about protecting each other on the road; whether you’re on a bike, motorbike or car. As it’s Road Safety week, we put together some simple tips to help you think about yourself and others whilst on the road.
Riding every day means you might get a little too relaxed and forget the important stuff. Here’s what to remember:
- Take extra care on junctions by signalling and not swerving unexpectedly. Check out our video here on safely crossing junctions.
- Remember COAST: Concentration, Observation, Anticipation, Space and Time. Find out more on how to keep yourself alert on the road here.
- Use a headlight and rear light, day and night. You can purchase these from a number of shops with a Deliveroo discount through our partners – click here to find out more.
- Conduct regular bike checks to ensure that your bike is in working order – find out how to do this here.
